The Idea Clarity Session
shortlist your scenes and focus your message
$200

You have a story to Write.
That story feels so big. It spans your lifetime, crossing checkpoints, oceans, continents.
But when you sit down to write the specific moments of your life, the details get a little fuzzy. You page through your passport / journals / photo albums to affirm that, yes:
You went there. You did that.
You were changed.
So why is it so hard to write it all down?
Because it’s one thing to know and accept your story as your own.
It’s another thing to write it so that someone else understands and wants to keep reading.

You need a Sandbox, a Sifter, and a Strategy.
The Sandbox
You've got memories; so many that they can feel overwhelming and uncountable like the grains of sand in a sandbox.

But sandboxes can be fun to play in, when you commit to the experience and take off your socks.
This clarity session is that: Taking off your socks, accepting the grittiness and the sparkle of your life, and using your curiosity as a generative force for discovery through play.
The Sifter
You're looking for those stories that won't let you go. They might be the stories that keep you up at night. They might be the stories that feel more like a dream. They might be the stories of great change or great loss.
Like a child in a sandbox, you'll sift through your life and rediscover your stories using four prompts I designed for this purpose.
Each prompt takes you deeper into reflection, starting with a wide-angle, full-life view and slowly zooming in to specific scenes. The prompts ask you to look at your life first from this angle, then from that one, just as you would inspect a rock or a shell that shows up in your bucket. You can expect to invest several days on this work, since reflection takes time and emotional energy, and certain memories may compel others to emerge.

The Strategy
Once you've collected your stories and stepped out of the sandbox, you submit your work for my review and schedule a one-hour call to talk about your discoveries.
I read and listen carefully for moments where your interest and your message align. I point out areas that require further reflection or clarity.
Instead of remaining in overwhelm and fuzziness about your memoir, this session helps you develop clarity and specificity. You will come away with a shortlist of five impactful scenes from your life and a working message that describes how you changed and why that's important to your readers. From there, the next steps are clear: time to get writing those scenes!
