With a Story To Write?
I serve memoir writers who know what it means to be outsiders and who have worked to create deep connection against all odds.​
I serve writers who grab their go-bags at the hint of a white picket fence, a mortgage, or an endless march into a known future.
​As a traveler whose go-bag is still stashed in her closet, I know the trust and vulnerability involved in sharing a story of my life experiences, only to be misunderstood, or worse, ignored.
The thing is, we're outsiders, telling outsider stories. These stories do not immediately track with a general audience who might want the stability and the known future, but are curious to hear from the ones who live life differently.
But outsiders have a superpower: we have learned how to fit in and thrive in harsh situations, and we can use those same skills to craft our stories in a way that connects with our readers.

I'm here to give you space to tell your story in your own time and with your own words. I'm also here to help you put structure around your message so that your writing doesn't feel foreign to your readers; it connects and feels like home. ​
My ROle
What Does a Book Coach Do?
A book coach is your companion and guide as you write. Book coaches help with every step of the writing process: ideation, planning, writing, revising, and pitching.
I focus on ideation through draft revision because that's an especially daunting part of the process. You're taking such a big, bold step when you declare you're writing a book-length work, especially a memoir.
Because eventually it hits you that you're writing about real life and real people, and suddenly you are face to face with all of your vulnerabilities and fears. How much better to face those mindset challenges with a coach who has guided other writers through a similar process and is ready to cheer you on!

I offer a variety of services to help you clarify an idea, plan, and get those chapters into a file. Everything starts with a consultation call where we get to know each other and your goals for your project. I look forward to hearing your story.
